HGV Class 2 Drivers

Industrial Temps are proud to be working in partnership with Royal Mail, the UK's designated Universal Postal Service Provider, to recruit HGV Class 2 (Category C) Drivers based at their busy Newtownabbey Distribution Centre. We are particularly looking for HGV Class 2 Drivers who are available for night shifts, back shifts and weekend work. As an HGV Class 2 Driver, you'll play a key role in the Royal Mail network by trunking parcels and mail between depots nationwide. With minimal manual handling, no multi-drop deliveries and shifts allocated a week in advance, this is an excellent opportunity for drivers looking for regular, ongoing work outside traditional daytime hours.

Pay Rate: £19.51 – £22.54 per hour

Working Hours: Start time between 3pm – 11pm, shifts are usually 10+ hours

We have a strong requirement for drivers available to work:

• Night shifts

• Back shifts

• Weekend shifts

• Regular 10+ hour shifts

• Ongoing, consistent work

What You'll Be Doing

• Driving HGV Class 2 vehicles within the Royal Mail fleet

• Trunking parcels and mail between depots nationwide

• Completing straightforward depot-to-depot deliveries with no multi-drop work

• Maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism at all times

• Ensuring compliance with Working Time Directive (WTD) and drivers' hours regulations

• Carrying out required vehicle checks

• Completing digital tachograph entries accurately

Job Criteria: Full Time, Temporary ongoing

Essential Criteria:

• Valid HGV Class 2 (Category C) licence, held for at least 1 year

• Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card with recorded data

• Maximum of 6 penalty points.

• No DD / DR / IN / CD / TT endorsements

• Good geographical knowledge and strong professional standards

• Ability to carry out manual entries on a digital tachograph

• Willingness to complete a DBS security check

• Successful completion of a site assessment and induction before your first shift

• Availability for night shifts and/or weekend work is highly desirable
