Senior Accountant (Travel Agency)

Human Factor is seeking, on behalf of a client operating in the travel and tourism sector, a Senior Accountant based in Athens.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management & Accounting

• Maintained accounting records and reviewed customer and supplier invoices.

• Managed cash flow, collections and payments, liaising with banks.

• Prepared and submitted VAT returns and other tax obligations.

• Produced financial statements and management reports.

Business Unit Support & Strategy

• Advised Business Units on financial and tax matters.

• Identified cost optimization opportunities and monitored KPIs.

Human Resources

• Managed payroll in cooperation with an external provider, ensuring compliance with labor and social security regulations.

• Maintained employee records and supported the recruitment process.

Administration & Internal Operations

• Coordinated with external accountants and auditors.

• Supported the implementation of ERP/CRM systems for financial data.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field

• 3+ years of relevant experience in an organized accounting department

• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, procedures, and tax requirements

• Good knowledge of myDATA and relevant electronic tax procedures

• Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting/ERP systems

• Good command of English, both written and spoken

• Previous experience in a travel agency, tour operator, DMC, or tourism-related company
