Bring Your Caring Nature and Playful Personality to a Role That Really Matters!
Are you a compassionate, enthusiastic Care Assistant who loves working with children and understands that communication goes far beyond words?
At HFH Healthcare, we're looking for a kind, patient and engaging Paediatric Care Assistant to support a lively 10-year-old boy in his own home in Hayes.
Our client is full of enthusiasm and excitement for life. He is non-verbal and communicates through touch-based methods, so we're looking for someone who is attentive, intuitive and willing to take the time to understand his individual ways of expressing himself.
A big heart, a playful personality and a genuine passion for supporting children will make all the difference in this role.
This is a wonderful opportunity to build a meaningful connection with a young person while supporting his comfort, wellbeing and everyday experiences.
What You'll Be Doing
You'll provide dedicated, one-to-one care in the child's home, working closely with his family and wider care team.
Your responsibilities will include:
Supporting daily routines, personal care and general wellbeing.
Building trust through patience, kindness and consistency.
Learning and responding to his individual tactile communication methods.
Encouraging play, interaction and age-appropriate activities.
Creating a safe, positive and engaging environment.
Recognising non-verbal cues and responding to his needs.
Supporting his independence and choices wherever possible.
Following individual care plans and working collaboratively with his family and care team.
What We're Looking For
Previous experience in a care or support role, ideally working with children or young people.
A warm, compassionate and playful personality.
Patience and confidence supporting someone who communicates non-verbally.
Excellent observation and communication skills.
A reliable, attentive and proactive approach.
A genuine understanding of dignity, safeguarding and person-centred care.
Availability to work 12-hour shifts, at least 3 per week.
Experience with alternative communication methods is an advantage, but your willingness to learn and connect with our client is equally important.
