Make a Difference in a Child's Life with HFH Healthcare

Are you a compassionate, reliable and attentive individual looking for a rewarding role supporting children with complex healthcare needs?

At HFH Healthcare, we're recruiting Paediatric Healthcare Assistants to join our dedicated care teams across East Dulwich, Southwark and Crawley.

You'll support children in the comfort and familiarity of their family homes, helping them remain safe, comfortable and cared for throughout the night.

We're looking for people who bring patience, kindness and a genuine passion for care. Whether you already have experience in paediatric complex care or have transferable skills from another care or support setting, we'd love to hear from you.

Previous tracheostomy or paediatric experience is a bonus, but not essential.

About the Role

You'll provide dedicated, one-to-one care to a child with complex healthcare needs, following an individual care plan and working closely with their family and our clinical team.

This is not a domiciliary care role. You'll support one client per shift, rather than travelling between multiple homes.

We have full-time and part-time opportunities available, with 8–12-hour night shifts and a minimum commitment of 21 hours per week.

You'll become part of a regular care team, giving you the opportunity to build trust, develop your skills and make a meaningful difference.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing personalised care and support throughout the night.

  • Assisting with personal care, comfort and bedtime routines.

  • Monitoring the child's wellbeing and responding to their individual needs.

  • Supporting specialist clinical care where appropriately trained and assessed as competent.

  • Following care plans, safeguarding procedures and clinical guidance.

  • Maintaining accurate care records and reporting any concerns.

  • Creating a safe, calm and reassuring environment for the child and their family.

What We're Looking For

  • A compassionate, patient and nurturing personality.

  • Reliability, professionalism and strong attention to detail.

  • Good communication and observation skills.

  • Confidence working independently within a supportive care team.

  • A genuine interest in supporting children with complex healthcare needs.

  • Availability for night shifts and at least 21 hours per week.

  • A willingness to learn and develop specialist care skills.

Previous care experience is desirable, and we welcome applicants with transferable experience in healthcare, childcare, nursery settings, education support or support work.

Paediatric and/or tracheostomy experience is an advantage.

Most importantly, we're looking for people who understand the importance of dignity, safety and providing care tailored to each child's needs.
