Make a Real Difference with HFH Healthcare

Are you a compassionate, experienced Healthcare Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference in someone's everyday life?

At HFH Healthcare, we're looking for reliable and dedicated Complex Care Assistants to support a gentleman in his late 30s who is living with a spinal cord injury in his own home in Enfield.

Our client lives with his family and three friendly dogs. He requires support with his daily routines, personal care and specialist healthcare needs, while maintaining as much independence and control over his life as possible.

We're looking for someone who is attentive, proactive and respectful, with the confidence to provide hands-on care and the personality to build a positive, trusting relationship.

Please note: Our client smokes and requires assistance with this. Applicants must be comfortable working in an environment where smoking takes place and with dogs in the home.

About the Role

You'll provide dedicated, one-to-one support in our client's home, helping him remain safe, comfortable and independent.

Available shifts:

  • 12-hour day shifts

  • 12-hour night shifts

  • Minimum 24 hours per week

Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.

This is not a home-to-home care role. You'll support one client per shift rather than travelling between multiple homes.

Your Responsibilities

  • Providing personal care and support with daily living activities.

  • Assisting with mobility, transfers and repositioning.

  • Supporting established bowel management routines.

  • Assisting with nebuliser use in accordance with the care plan.

  • Supporting the client's comfort, wellbeing and independence.

  • Providing practical assistance with everyday routines.

  • Working closely with family members and healthcare professionals.

  • Monitoring wellbeing and communicating any changes or concerns.

  • Maintaining accurate care records and following clinical guidance.

All specialist interventions must be carried out in line with the individual care plan, appropriate training and assessed competencies.

What We're Looking For

  • At least 6 months' experience working as a Healthcare Assistant or Support Worker.

  • Confidence providing personal care and supporting complex healthcare needs.

  • Willingness to assist with bowel management and mobility support.

  • A compassionate, patient and professional approach.

  • Good communication skills and attention to detail.

  • Reliability and the ability to work independently as part of a wider care team.

  • Respect for the client's choices, privacy and independence.

  • Availability for at least 24 hours per week.

  • Comfort working in a home with dogs and where smoking takes place.

Previous spinal cord injury or bowel management experience would be an advantage.

Most importantly, we're looking for carers who are dependable, adaptable and genuinely committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred care.
