Live-In Care Assistant – Harrow

Location: Harrow, London

Pay: £135 per day

Working Pattern: 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off

Job Type: Live-In Care Assistant

Experience: Minimum 6 months' care experience required

Are you a calm, compassionate carer who believes great care starts with patience and understanding?

At HFH Healthcare, we're looking for a kind, reliable and experienced Live-In Care Assistant to support a woman in her 40s living with a complex spinal cord injury in her own home in Harrow.

Our client values comfort, dignity, independence and a peaceful home environment. She enjoys spending time with her family and occasionally attending events and outings when she feels well enough.

She prefers carers who are gentle, considerate and respectful of her pace, particularly during personal care and mealtimes.

Although she requires significant physical assistance, she wants to remain involved in decisions about her care and daily routine.

We're looking for someone who understands that excellent care isn't about rushing through tasks — it's about listening, being attentive and helping someone feel comfortable, respected and in control.

About the Role

This is a live-in position working on a 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off rota, providing consistent support in our client's home.

Pay: £135 per day, paid through PAYE.

You'll become part of a dedicated care team, building a trusting relationship with our client and supporting her to maintain her preferred routines and quality of life.

What will you be doing?

  • Providing personalised care and support with daily living activities.

  • Assisting with personal care, hygiene and comfort.

  • Supporting safe positioning and mobility in line with individual care plans.

  • Helping maintain a calm, comfortable environment.

  • Supporting hydration, mealtime routines and general wellbeing.

  • Respecting her preferences, allowing time and space during care.

  • Encouraging independence and involving her in everyday decisions.

  • Supporting family visits and occasional outings when appropriate.

  • Recognising signs of discomfort or distress and responding calmly.

  • Working closely with the wider care and clinical team, seeking guidance when needed.

What are we looking for?

  • At least 6 months' previous care experience.

  • A calm, gentle and compassionate personality.

  • Someone patient, attentive and an excellent listener.

  • Experience supporting people with physical disabilities or complex care needs is desirable.

  • Confidence providing personal care while maintaining dignity and privacy.

  • An understanding of the importance of comfort, positioning and individual routines.

  • A respectful, professional approach to working in someone's home.

  • The ability to remain calm, communicate clearly and seek support when situations become challenging.

  • Reliability and commitment to the 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off working pattern.

The right personality match is especially important. Our client values carers who take their time, respect her choices and help her feel safe and comfortable in her own home.
