Mid-Senior Software Engineer (AI & Research)

We're looking for a mid-senior software engineer — an applied AI engineer equally comfortable shipping product features and working on research-grade software. You'll refine and evolve the HelloSelf Companion, an LLM-powered mental health product already in people's hands, and lead engineering delivery of a nearly £5m Wellcome Trust-funded programme adapting the Companion for CIRCuiTS, a computerised cognitive remediation platform, in a clinical research partnership with King's College London. The work spans prompt design, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), evaluation frameworks (evals), model integration and data pipelines — primarily in Python. Deep machine-learning research expertise is not required; strong engineering fundamentals are. Hybrid working: two days per week in the Shoreditch, London office.
