Key Responsibilities

  • Support users in developing robust, scalable Power BI datasets, semantic models, and reports.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions.
  • Support the ongoing enhancement of the data warehouse by helping define and prioritise reporting and data requirements.
  • Design and deliver informal training, mentoring, and knowledge-sharing sessions to improve Power BI capability across teams.
  • Build Power BI semantic models and reporting solutions to address short-term delivery and capacity requirements.
  • Advise leadership teams on best practices for modern reporting, analytics, and self-service BI adoption.

  • Deep understanding of DAX and Power Query (M).
  • Strong T-SQL skills, including connecting Power BI to SQL-based data sources and understanding query folding principles.
  • Experience with data modelling and designing scalable reporting solutions.
  • Experience delivering training, mentoring, consultancy, or user adoption activities.
  • Ability to work independently while engaging effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience working within policing, government, public sector, or national security environments.
  • Microsoft Fabric DP-600 certification.
  • Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) accreditation.
  • Experience supporting organisations migrating from legacy reporting platforms to Power BI.
