About the role
Job description
Goonvean Group is looking for a talented and creative Content Creator to develop engaging written and visual content that builds awareness and understanding of our Group Businesses across existing and new customer markets.
You will uncover and tell compelling stories about our people, products, services, customer successes and values. Your content will support customer engagement, lead generation, internal communications and recruitment across digital and non-digital marketing channels.
Alongside strong written content, you will create photography and short-form video using a work mobile and suitable editing apps. You do not need to be a professional videographer, but you must be able to demonstrate that you have created, edited and published effective video content.
This is a varied role for someone who is naturally curious, confident visiting our businesses and skilled at building relationships. You will need to be proactive and reactive, while remaining sensitive to operational priorities at each site.
Key responsibilities
Content writing and storytelling
- Create high-quality short and long-form content, including technical content where required, for websites, social media, email campaigns, blogs, newsletters, brochures, case studies and customer communications.
- Research and develop stories that highlight business successes, projects, innovation, people, customers and industry expertise.
- Write engaging articles, news updates, thought leadership pieces and feature content for internal and external audiences.
- Produce clear, accurate and brand-aligned copy tailored to different audiences and sectors.
- Support SEO objectives through search-friendly website and blog content.
Marketing content development
- Build strong relationships with key people across the Engineering businesses to identify and plan content opportunities.
- Understand which aspects of manufacturing and go-to-market activity to highlight, and coordinate the people who need to be involved.
- Support campaigns with content designed to increase awareness, engagement and lead generation.
- Maintain a content calendar and contribute ideas for future campaigns and content themes.
- Establish and manage a scheduled content plan to maximise visibility and reach.
- Measure, review and report monthly content performance against agreed metrics and KPIs.
Visual content support
- Create photography content in line with the Content Plan, using digital tools to edit, schedule and publish.
- Create visual assets for social media, presentations and marketing collateral, and repurpose them for internal communications.
- Produce and edit short-form video content for campaigns, events and business updates using a mobile phone and editing apps such as Lightroom or CapCut.
- Maintain and organise a library of marketing assets.
Brand and communications
- Ensure content reflects Goonvean Group values, brand standards and tone of voice, while recognising the individual identity of each business.
- Support internal communications through engaging and informative content.
- Help strengthen our employer brand by showcasing company culture, employees and career opportunities.
Skills and experience
Essential
- A minimum of two years’ experience creating content for marketing, communications or digital channels.
- Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills, with the ability to translate complex subjects into engaging content.
- Confidence using B2B marketing platforms and social channels including LinkedIn and YouTube, together with relevant content creation and publishing apps.
- Practical experience creating, filming, editing and publishing photography and short-form video content, including content produced on a mobile phone.
- A collaborative approach and the ability to build effective relationships across different businesses and operational environments.
- Strong communication and project leadership skills, including the ability to brief work and gain buy-in.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organisation and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to company sites. A pool car may be available, otherwise business mileage will be paid.
