Key Job Duties & Responsibilities

• As an Interim Driver Supervisor, you will lead and develop a team of customer focused drivers who will enhance strong relationships with our customers on a daily basis.
• It is the responsibility of the Driver Supervisors to ensure all drivers/driver helpers carry out their duties to the required company and legal standards
• Responsible for the development and training and of all new drivers /driver helpers in line with company systems and procedures.
• Ensuring Quality and Health and Safety standards are met at all times
• Ensure all drivers are fully informed of their obligations in relation to driving hours, record keeping, tachograph use, driving duty of care and best practice.
• Carry out routine audits of drivers/driver helpers to ensure adherence to standards in relation to customer care, health and safety procedures, operation of handhelds, driving skills, vehicle maintenance, compliance with legal requirements and any other operational duties as required.
• Carry out refresher training at periodic intervals for all drivers at depot to ensure standards are maintained
• Assist the Depot Manager to implement or change any work methods or procedures that will improve the efficiency of the distribution team and improve the customer experience.
• Ensure all bulk fresh oil loadings and deliveries are handled in accordance with HACCP requirements for cleanliness and filter checks.
• Interact with Office and Sales team to assist with improvements in internal systems, create efficiencies and increase volumes in fresh oil sales and Used Cooking Oil collections.
• Ensure customer satisfaction levels are maximised in own daily runs
• Emailing weekly reports to distribution & Depot managers
• Carry out usual driving and driver helper duties when required
• Carry out any other duties as requested by the Depot Manager.

Essential Criteria

• Must have minimum 4 years’ experience of carrying out multi drop deliveries
• Experience of using hand held devices
• Must have under-gone HACCP training.
• Driving knowledge of surrounding counties to Depot
• Good understanding of driver hours regulations and correct use of tachographs
• Effective Leadership Skills
• Confident in making decisions and recommendations
• Ability to implement procedures/instructions
• Ability to self- motivate and motivate others
• Must be able to demonstrate a strong customer focus
• Good written and oral communication skills
• Positive attitude to change
• Must be a team player

Desirable Criteria

• Experience in a previous supervisory/charge hand role would be an advantage
• Experience of training or instructing others to perform tasks
