About the role

Fitzpatrick Referrals Halfway Lane, EashingGodalmingSurreyGU7 2QQGB

Be the welcoming face and reassuring voice that makes a difference to our patients and their families.

Are you a confident communicator who enjoys helping people and thrives in a busy environment? Join Fitzpatrick Referrals’ specialist orthopaedics, neurology and dentistry hospital near Godalming in Surrey, where your warmth, organisation and initiative will help families feel welcome and supported.

We’re looking for a receptionist to join our well-established team. Whether greeting a patient and their family or helping a referring vet arrange an appointment, you’ll play an important part in delivering the personal touch and high standards of service we’re known for.

Your role

Our reception team is at the heart of a busy hospital, connecting families, referring vets and clinical colleagues. This is a varied role where you’ll combine practical organisation with thoughtful, empathetic communication.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Welcoming patients and their families
  • Handling a high volume of telephone calls and responding to email enquiries
  • Booking appointments and managing busy appointment diaries
  • Liaising with referring vets and other referral centres
  • Processing payments and handling cash
  • Updating and maintaining accurate client records
  • Providing support to our triage department

Every interaction is an opportunity to offer reassurance, answer a question or help someone take the next step in their animal’s care.

What you’ll bring

We’re looking for someone who combines efficiency and confidence with empathy and a genuine desire to help.

You’ll be an excellent communicator, comfortable managing competing priorities and keeping a busy reception desk running smoothly. A proactive, resourceful approach and the ability to remain calm under pressure will help you make a real contribution to the team.

You’ll understand that families may be feeling worried about their animals, and that a patient explanation or friendly welcome can make all the difference.

Your hours and benefits:

  • Full-time, 40-hour week working in line with the company rota, including one in four weekends, with days off in lieu. The position will include early and late shifts, with further details discussed at interview.
  • Competitive salary
  • Company pension scheme and life assurance
  • Company sick pay
  • Access to an employee assistance programme

Ready to take your next step?

If you enjoy a varied working day, take pride in helping others and want to play an important role in a specialist veterinary hospital, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your CV and cover letter using the form below.

Early applications are encouraged, as we reserve the right to close applications before the advertised closing date.
