About the role

Evans Transport, a leading logistics and transport company, is seeking a dedicated and experienced HGV C+E Driver to join our team. We are currently looking to recruit drivers across our various sectors (General, Bulk, MOL). Home base can be at any of the following locations

Bideford, Exeter, Wrangaton, Caldicot, Maidstone, Sittingbourne or Barnsley

Terms of reference

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate and drive Heavy Goods Vehicles (HGV) according to the C+E license requirements.
Ensure timely delivery of goods to various destinations, adhering to the schedule and route plans.
Conduct pre-use and post-use inspections of the vehicle to identify and address any maintenance or safety issues in accordance with the DVSA standards
Load and unload freight in accordance with company procedures and safety regulations.
Complete all necessary paperwork, including delivery notes, logbooks, and any other relevant documentation most of which will be captured by electronic devices
Maintain effective communication with the dispatch team and customers to provide updates on delivery status.
Follow all traffic laws and regulations, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Represent Evans Transport professionally, always demonstrating excellent customer service & keeping trucks in a clean and professional state.

Your profile

Qualifications and Requirements

Valid HGV C+E license.
Ability to take on newly qualified drivers
Good knowledge of road safety regulations and traffic laws.
Strong communication skills and the ability to maintain professional relationships with clients and team members.
Ability to handle physical aspects of the job, including load security and potential tail lift requirements.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality service.
