Job description

We offer industry placements for individuals studying an engineering and manufacturing T Level course to gain real-world experience within a leading precision manufacturing company.

During your placement at Cross Manufacturing, you will rotate through a variety of departments across the factory, developing an understanding of our products and manufacturing processes. You will experience how raw materials are transformed into high-quality precision-engineered sealing solutions used in the automotive, aerospace, power generation, and other demanding industries.

Whether attending on day release or block placement weeks, you will work alongside experienced employees who will support your learning and provide an insight into careers within engineering and manufacturing.

Duties and Responsibilities

During your placement, you will have the opportunity to:

• Gain an understanding of Cross Manufacturing, our products and industry sectors.
• Experience a range of manufacturing and support departments through structured workplace rotations.
• Observe and participate in key manufacturing processes including machining, inspection, and quality activities.
• Develop an understanding of engineering drawings, specifications, and manufacturing documentation.
• Learn about health, safety, quality, and environmental standards within a modern manufacturing environment.
• Develop workplace skills including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, organisation, and professional conduct.
• Build confidence working within a busy engineering business.
