Role Requirements

To provide layouts, general arrangements, and detailed technical drawings in AutoCAD in accordance with Chemplas company standards and clients project specifications.

To schedule/order all materials to suit construction site programmes.

Technical Director

Job Description

  • Liaise with Estimating/Contracts Department to obtain clear specifications. 
  • Support the Contracts Department and Contract Managers with all necessary drawings from launch to handover. 
  • Work from Architects, Steelworkers & Engineers drawings to create detailed CAD drawings for construction.
  • Liaise with Contracts Managers to understand their needs.
  • Liaise with external manufactures to understand their needs.
  • Solve fabrication/design problems. 
  • Work independently with limited or no supervision.
  • Follow instructions carefully.
  • Continuously look for and suggest ways to carry out your duties in a more efficient manner.
  • Ensuring conformance – to client’s specifications, company standards as well as other regulation requirements.
  • Perform additional duties as and when requested by management, i.e. work a reasonable amount of unpaid overtime when required.
  • Assist in day-to-day department operations when necessary.

Person Specification

  • Be experienced in the use of CAD, preferably AutoCad.
  • Previous experience of working with Standing Seam, Built-up, Composite and Façade Systems and Glazing preferable.
  • Be knowledgeable of construction techniques and structurally aware.
  • Hold strong commercial awareness and material costs.
  • You will need to be organised and able to run multiple projects in parallel.
  • Ability to work well in a team and on your own.
  • Ability to respond well to criticism and maintain a positive attitude.
  • Be confident with numbers.
  • High attention to detail.
