About the role
What do we do?Introducing Thinkproject PlatformPioneering a new era and offering a cohesive alternative to the fragmented landscape of construction software, Thinkproject seamlessly integrates the most extensive portfolio of mature solutions with an innovative platform, providing unparalleled features, integrations, user experiences, and synergies.By combining information management expertise and in-depth knowledge of the building, infrastructure, and energy industries, Thinkproject empowers customers to efficiently deliver, operate, regenerate, and dispose of their built assets across their entire lifecycle through a Connected Data Ecosystem. What your day will look likeAbout the RoleWe are looking for a Cloud Infrastructure & Agentic Architect (f/m/d) to own the technical foundation of our cloud platform. You will maintain our service catalog, design architectural blueprints, establish the observability standard, and — most distinctively — bring hands-on LLM-driven tooling skills to a team actively shaping what the next generation of cloud operations looks like. This is a senior individual-contributor role reporting to the Cloud Architect Manager (who reports to the CIO), with direct CIO-adjacent visibility. You will sit at the intersection of platform engineering and technology strategy, contributing to platform roadmap decisions — not just executing them. The team is small, ownership is total, and iteration cycles are short. You will be expected to resolve ambiguity, align expectations, and establish technical clarity across a diverse group of stakeholders.Time allocation (approximate):~40% LLM-driven tooling & workflow design | ~30% architecture & catalog governance | ~20%observability | ~10% collaboration & documentationKey ResponsibilitiesService Catalog & Platform GovernanceBuild and maintain a minimalistic, opinionated service catalog of approved cloud components across Google Cloud and AzureApply a serverless-first, PaaS-first philosophy — challenge complexity and push back onunnecessary infrastructure sprawlFor every approved catalog entry, deliver production-ready configuration: IaC, security baseline, observability hooks, and runbookScrutinise every new component request and justify its addition in terms of cost, operational overhead, and platform alignmentCloud ArchitectureDefine, document, and govern cloud architectural blueprints across networking, compute, storage and data layersDesign event-driven pipelines that trigger AI-assisted validation, drift detection, and deployment gatesServe as the technical authority on platform design decisions within your domainLLM-Driven OperationsImplement LLM-based automated deployment capabilities using tools such as OpenCode, Claude Code, or equivalent frameworksDesign and operate infrastructure workflows augmented by AI agents — from deployment validation to configuration drift detectionStay ahead of the market in AI-assisted tooling and bring relevant innovations into the platformObservabilityDefine the observability standard: structured logging, distributed tracing, alerting, dashboards, and SLO/SLA frameworksEstablish platform-level KPIs and ensure consistent adoption across engineering teamsCollaborationPartner with DevOps and Engineering teams to embed platform standards into delivery pipelinesPartner with SecOps to integrate all controls and security requirementsDocument everything: blueprints, ADRs, runbooks, onboarding guidesWhat you need to fulfill the roleRequired Skills & QualificationsYou have operated multi-cloud Kubernetes environments in production, built IaC pipelines with Terraform and have hands-on experience with LLM-driven tooling in real engineering workflows. Specifically:Proven cloud networking experience: firewalls, gateways, VPCs, VPNs, private service connect, and network security groupsStrong, current proficiency across Google Cloud Platform (GKE, Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, VPC, Cloud Armor, Pub/Sub, Artifact Registry) and Microsoft AzureProven IaC experience with Terraform (required); Ansible a strong plusProven hands-on LLM tooling experience: must have used OpenCode, Claude Code, or equivalent AI-assisted coding/deployment agents in real engineering workflowsKubernetes at scale: demonstrated experience operating AKS (Azure Kubernetes Service) and GKE (Google Kubernetes Engine) — cluster lifecycle, upgrades, networking, and workload managementExperience with Vertex AI, Azure AI Foundry, or similar cloud model gardensAbility to proactively coordinate with stakeholders to remove ambiguity and build clarity in migration designsExperience in Agile/fast-iteration environments with high individual ownershipNice-to-Have (Bonus Skills)Knowledge of C5, SecNumCloud, ISO 27001, or equivalent cloud security frameworksFinOps — cost attribution, rightsizing, commitment strategiesPrior experience in a SaaS product company at scalePlatform engineering / SRE backgroundSoft SkillsIntense technical curiosity — you follow the market, test new tools, and form opinions before they become mainstreamStrong problem-solving discipline: you reach for first principles, not familiarityOwnership mindset — you build it, you run it, you improve itClear written and verbal communication: able to document decisions and explain them to non specialistsOperates well under pressure and tight constraints — energised by hard problemsStrong negotiation skills — fact-driven and data-driven: you argue with evidence, not opinionHighly collaborative: you build alignment across engineering, SecOps, and leadershipWhat success looks likeWe target a mature and highly automated cloud foundation designed for modern enterprise SaaS. The long-term success of this role is defined by:Robust Service Catalog & Governance: An established service catalog baseline featuring approved, standardized cloud components with built-in compliance, IaC automation, and production-ready monitoring.Enterprise-Wide Observability Adoption: Broad deployment of unified platform-level observability standards across engineering teams, incorporating logging, distributed tracing, and clear SLA frameworks.AI-Accelerated Workflows: Active, production-ready LLM-driven deployment, validation, and configuration drift-detection pipelines to streamline system management.Sustainable Architecture Blueprints: Completed architectural blueprints and ADR documents defining the multi-cloud framework, paired with scalable FinOps cost tracking principles. You're probably NOT a fit ifYou need a large team to delegate to before making decisionsYou prefer deep specialisation in a single cloud over breadth across twoYou're not actively following the LLM/AI tooling spaceYou're looking for a role with clearly defined scope and minimal ambiguityWhat we offerMulticultural team across 7 countries (Germany, France, UK, UAE, Spain, New Zealand, Australia)Hybrid-first workingContinuous learning & certification budget Open, inclusive, and high-ownership cultureLearning programmes | Career growth | Leadership accessAt Thinkproject, we run feedback cycles that are honest and frequent.
