A shipping company operating a fleet of bulk carriers is preparing to take delivery of a series of new buildings throughout 2027 and 2028. To support this growth, we are looking for an experienced officer to manage new building warranty claims across the new vessels.

Expect a high claims workload from the start, as each vessel enters its warranty period immediately after delivery.

Responsibilities :

• Manage and follow up warranty claims and defects for each newbuilding, from delivery through the full warranty period under the shipbuilding contract.
• Liaise and negotiate with shipyards, equipment makers and subcontractors to achieve timely and satisfactory resolution of claims.
• Coordinate with superintendents, masters and chief engineers to record, document and track defects and damages on board.
• Prepare and submit claims with complete technical and contractual documentation, and monitor contractual deadlines and warranty expiry dates.
• Work with P&I and H&M insurers, surveyors and legal counsel when required.
• Maintain a clear claims database and report regularly to management on claim status, recoveries and costs.

Requirements:

• Solid knowledge of shipbuilding contracts, warranty terms and vessel delivery procedures.
• Technical background (naval architecture, marine or mechanical engineering) .
• Excellent command of English, written and spoken.
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to work with multiple teams.
