About the Role

To coordinate export customer orders, international shipments and associated documentation, ensuring excellent customer service and efficient delivery from order through to completion.

Working closely with the Commercial Manager and internal teams, the role supports export compliance activities, customer relationships and opportunities to grow the international business.

Works closely with Export Customers, Technical, Logistics, Finance, freight providers, veterinary representatives and the wider Commercial team

Key responsibilities

Export Orders & Logistics

• Process export customer orders accurately and efficiently, monitoring progress and deadlines.
• Liaise with freight forwarders and shipping providers to arrange and track international deliveries.
• Coordinate communication between Commercial, Technical, Logistics and Finance to meet export requirements.
• Coordinate product loading and veterinary inspection arrangements where required.
• Prepare and check export documentation, including commercial invoices, packing lists, bills of lading and relevant shipping paperwork.
• Develop and maintain customer-specific process flows detailing documentation and departmental responsibilities.

Customer Care & Communication

• Act as a key contact for export customers, providing timely order and delivery updates.
• Follow up after delivery, resolve customer queries and maintain positive international customer relationships.

Export Compliance & Administration

• Work with the Technical department on export accreditations, country registrations and associated requirements.
• Research and coordinate documentation requirements for new export markets, escalating specialist compliance decisions to the relevant department.
• Maintain accurate, organised export records and support process improvements.

Commercial Support & Samples

• Support the Commercial Manager by following up export sales leads and customer enquiries.
• Coordinate sample selection, testing requirements, preparation and dispatch.
• Assist with export trade show preparations, including samples, shipping and paperwork.
• Provide reasonable holiday cover for colleagues and support wider team priorities.

About you

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience in export administration, international logistics or export customer service is essential.
• Working knowledge of export documentation, customs processes and international shipping requirements.
• Strong IT literacy, including Microsoft Office, and experience maintaining accurate records.
• Food manufacturing or food export experience, including export health certificates and veterinary inspections, is preferred.
• Proficiency in an additional language would be advantageous in supporting the Company’s international customer base and developing export markets.
