Who are we looking for?

We’re looking for a hands-on Data Platform Lead with a proven track record of delivering data platforms, lakehouses, or data warehouses into production. You’re comfortable taking ownership of both the architecture and the actual delivery.

You’ll join a project that is the number-one priority for our client, a major bank. The project involves the complete migration of an existing logical data warehouse from Teradata and a Big Data platform (Hadoop) to Databricks on AWS.

You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll work closely with data engineers, architects, and project managers to deliver the solution end to end.

What will be your tasks?

Design and deliver the DWH migration end to end, from analysing the existing solution through to production in Databricks
Work hands-on with Databricks, Airflow, and AWS
Analyse and migrate existing logic from Teradata and the Hadoop ecosystem
Define migration rules for AI agents and validate the quality of their output
Verify consistency between the original and new solutions through reconciliation and testing
Orchestrate data pipelines in Airflow
Set up CI/CD, code testing, and data engineering standards
Design integration patterns for data ingestion and data delivery
Coordinate the technical delivery and support other engineers on the team
Communicate with the client throughout all stages of the project and participate in technical discussions and solution design

What do we expect from you?

At least 3 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture, or a similar role
Experience delivering DWH, lakehouse, or analytics projects into production
Strong knowledge of Databricks (must-have)
Experience with Airflow for orchestration
Knowledge of Teradata and the Hadoop ecosystem
Good knowledge of Git and CI/CD
Attention to detail and a strong focus on accuracy — in a 1:1 migration, every detail matters
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders
Fluent Czech and advanced English
Ability to commute to our Prague office 1–2 days per week

Nice to have

Experience with AWS
Experience with AI agents or AI-assisted development, or an interest in learning more about them
Experience in banking or another regulated environment
Knowledge of SonarQube and Agile principles
