The Barn Owl Trust is looking for a new Trustee

by barnowl1998 | Barn Owl Trust News

Are you truly passionate about wildlife conservation and ready to make a meaningful difference?
The Barn Owl Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled individual to join our fantastic team of Trustees and help protect one of Britain’s most iconic species. This is an unpaid, voluntary position for an initial term of 5 years. Whether you are looking for your first Trustee post, or you have experience as a Trustee, we would be delighted to talk to you.

About Us
The Barn Owl Trust is a small but dynamic national charity based in South Devon. We are committed to the conservation of Barn Owls and their habitats. For nearly 40 years, we’ve been working to safeguard these beautiful birds through practical habitat restoration, providing advice nationally and internationally, and undertaking research, education, and advocacy.

We are living in a time of ecological and climate emergency. We work hard to prevent biodiversity loss, and to tackle climate change and we hope to help people reconnect to nature through our work with Barn Owls and protecting their natural environment.

We employ 20 staff, who work in the Conservation team, and the Admin and Nestbox building teams. Find out more about our work on this website.

Our mission is an important one for British wildlife. We are proud of our achievements, and we are now working to ensure we have a vibrant and sustainable future building on the successes of the past. We’d like you to be part of that vital work.

Who We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone who:
* Shares our values and our passion for wildlife and nature conservation.
* Has experience or expertise in areas such as conservation work, finance, governance, fundraising, marketing, or legal matters.
* Is ready to bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to our Trustee group.
* Can commit time to attend quarterly meetings (held online or in person) and provide support between meetings as needed.
Being a trustee is a voluntary role, but your contribution will have a direct and lasting impact on the work we do and the future of Barn Owls in the UK.

By becoming a Trustee, you will
* Have the opportunity to play a key leadership role in a respected UK conservation charity
* Join like-minded, passionate individuals leading the Trust into a sustainable future
* Develop your strategic governance and leadership skills
* Know that you’re helping to protect one of the nation’s most cherished birds
* Gain personal and professional fulfilment
