Concept supports clients across Defence, Education, Healthcare and Critical National Infrastructure, delivering safe, compliant solutions across a wide range of essential property services.Our team based in Portsmouth are looking to recruit a Quantity Surveyor. This is a key role within the commercial team, responsible for ensuring cost control, value for money and robust commercial governance across the contract. The role suits a Quantity Surveyor who is comfortable working in a structured, framework-driven environment and who values consistency, accuracy and collaboration.What You’ll Be DoingManage the commercial and financial delivery of commercial interior, fit-out, and refurbishment projects across healthcare, education, and public sector environments.Preparing and reviewing valuations, cost reports and forecastsManaging subcontractor accounts, applications and final accountsControlling variations, ensuring accurate pricing and commercial justificationSupporting the preparation of budgets, cashflow forecasts and cost value reconciliationsWorking closely with operational teams to ensure alignment between delivery and commercial outcomesEnsuring compliance with contract terms, schedule of rates and client requirementsIdentifying and managing commercial risks and opportunitiesSupporting audits, reporting and internal governance processesThis role requires strong commercial judgement, attention to detail and the ability to build effective working relationships across operational and client teams.About YouProven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within commercial and public sector environments.Demonstrable experience delivering projects ranging from £250k to £2.5m+, supported by a sound understanding of JCT and NEC forms of contract and effective cost control procedures.Confidence managing subcontractor accounts and valuationsGood working knowledge of contractual and commercial processesStrong communication and stakeholder management skillsIT literacy, including Excel and commercial systemsWhat We OfferSalary between £60,000 - £70,000 depending upon experienceCar AllowanceFree Parking25 days’ holiday + bank holidaysPrivate Medical InsurancePerkbox (discounts, perks & wellbeing offers)1 paid volunteer day£2000 refer-a-friend bonus after the referee passes probationOpportunities for development and progression across Axis CLCWhy Axis CLCJoining Axis CLC means being part of a national team delivering essential services across housing, education, healthcare, defence and commercial property.
