We are looking for an experienced QA Lead to drive quality assurance strategy, establish standards, and lead continuous improvement initiatives within the team. In this role, you will oversee QA planning and execution, guide prioritization and decision-making, and ensure alignment between quality objectives and business needs. You will also collaborate with key stakeholders, promote best practices, and drive innovation to continuously improve QA processes and outcomes.
Your responsibilities:
- Faster and more reliable feedback from automated testing.
- Reduced production defects through effective quality practices.
- Increased engineering ownership of quality.
- Scalable and maintainable test automation solutions.
- Continuous improvement of testing effectiveness, efficiency, and developer experience.
What makes you a great fit:
- Strong hands-on experience in automated testing, with advanced practical knowledge of Playwright as the primary end-to-end testing framework.
- Proven ability to shape and continuously improve automated testing strategies and approaches.
- Experience with integration, API, contract, and end-to-end testing, with the ability to determine which approach is appropriate for a given risk.
- Ability to assess testing needs and recommend suitable tools, frameworks, and approaches beyond Playwright when required.
- Experience introducing automated quality guardrails and quality gates within development and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong understanding of test architecture, testability, test-data management, reliable test environments, failure diagnostics, and flaky-test prevention.
- Ability to design maintainable, scalable, and efficient automated test suites that provide fast and trustworthy feedback.
- Experience coaching software engineers in test design and automation and promoting engineering accountability for software quality.
- Strong analytical, collaboration, and communication skills, including the ability to influence practices across teams and organizational boundaries.
- Proactive interest in emerging testing practices and technologies, with the ability to translate relevant developments into practical improvements.
Benefits:
- An international, culture-driven and welcoming environment.
- A hybrid working model — after your probation period and depending on job specifics, flexibility based on business needs.
- Training and growth opportunities, including company-sponsored certifications and learning tailored to your career goals.
- Company events and an active social life.
- Covered telephone expenses (after probation).
- A modern, cozy office in the heart of Riga at Antonijas iela 17 (Magdalena's Quarter), with free parking.
- Gym membership with a symbolic co-payment.
- Company-covered health insurance starting from your first day.
