Description
Shape the future of pharmacy, not just maintain it
If you’re a pharmacist who believes strong clinical leadership, innovation and technology can change how healthcare is delivered, this is a rare chance to do it at scale.
Agentis Health Group is a UK digital health specialist that combines clinical expertise with digital innovation to make healthcare more efficient and accessible. Agentis Pharmacy is the Group’s medicines business. Our clinical pharmacy teams work with hospices, mental health providers, secure environments, care settings and public and independent healthcare organisations across the country.
We’re now looking for a Chief Pharmacist to be the senior professional pharmacy voice across all of our services.
The role
Reporting to the Managing Director of Agentis Pharmacy, you’ll lead clinical governance, patient safety, medicines optimisation and professional standards across the organisation. You’ll be the principal clinical adviser to the leadership team.
You’ll lead a dispersed clinical workforce through your senior team. That includes six regional Senior Clinical Pharmacists, around 30–36 Visiting Pharmacists working within customer organisations, and a team of specialist leads. You’ll also provide professional oversight of our closed dispensary, with scope to take on direct leadership of the clinical checking function as we grow.
Your influence will reach beyond our own teams. You’ll act as a trusted adviser, effectively a “virtual Chief Pharmacist”, to our key customers. You’ll help them with clinical, governance and workforce challenges and make sure the value our teams deliver is visible and measurable.
What you’ll be doing
- Leading clinical governance, audit, clinical risk management and quality improvement
- Setting the standard for patient safety and professional practice across every service we deliver
- Developing a high-performing pharmacy workforce, including capability, competency and succession planning
- Building executive-level relationships with customers and supporting retention and contract renewals
- Working alongside the Superintendent Pharmacist on inspection readiness, assurance and regulatory alignment
- Partnering with our Clinical Development team to design and launch new services, including digital and technology-enabled pharmacy
What we’re looking for
- MPharm (or equivalent) with current, unrestricted GPhC registration
- Independent Prescriber qualification
- Chief Pharmacist or equivalent senior experience (e.g. a senior hospital, trust or integrated care pharmacy leadership role), typically 8+ years post-registration with at least 3 in a senior leadership role
- A strong track record in clinical governance, medicines optimisation and patient safety leadership
- Experience leading multidisciplinary or geographically dispersed teams through change
- Confidence influencing senior stakeholders, both internally and with customers
- Willingness to travel regularly to customer sites and our Brighton office
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
It would be great if you also bring experience in a commercial or health-tech setting, pharmacy software or digital health products, outsourced pharmacy services, tenders or contract management, or a postgraduate qualification such as an MSc, PG Dip or MBA.
Why join us?
Alongside a competitive salary, our close-knit, inclusive and supportive teams enjoy Agentis social events throughout the year, as well as benefits designed to look after you:
- Comprehensive healthcare support for you and your wellbeing
- Enhanced pension contributions
- Incremental holiday, rising to 26 days plus public holidays

- Employee Assistance Programme and helpline counselling service
- Prescription charge reimbursement
