Duration: Ad hoc basis

We are currently recruiting for qualified Forklift Operators to support our quayside operations in the safe and efficient loading/offloading of cargo from vessels, vehicles and Base areas, conducted in accordance with all procedures and regulations. Candidates must be currently qualified to operate 5-15T Counterbalance Forklifts. 

• Conduct daily Forklift checks, assisting in maintenance work as required, and complete all associated compliance documentation.
• Visually inspect cargo prior to lifting to identify and report all snagging hazards, loose objects and non- compliances.
• Regularly review procedures, work aids and risk assessments.
• Conduct yard and gantry inspection duties, and assist in other areas of operational requirements, as required.
• Continuously promote a pro-active HSSEQ culture, ensuring participation and compliance, regularly reviewing procedures and risk assessments.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of customer service, processes and cost effectiveness.

Minimum Competencies (Skills, Knowledge and Behaviours):

• Accustomed to working effectively in a fast-paced environment, flexible and can adapt to changing workloads and priorities, where high standards are not compromised under pressure.
• Numerate, with strong interpersonal and communication skills both verbal and written.
• Ability to work stand-alone while also being a positive contributor to the wider team.
• Solutions based, strong analytical, planning & organising skills, an excellent attention to detail.

Minimum Qualifications
Current Forklift licence

Desirable Qualifications
Banksman Slinger ticket
