About the role

Are you passionate about creating value through a data-driven approach? Do you have experience being a Data Analytics Engineer?

If so, now is your chance to join Ascendis Pharma as our new Data Analytics Engineer in the Data & Analytics team.

Ascendis Pharma is a global biopharmaceutical company committed to making a meaningful difference in patients’ lives. Guided by our core values of Patients, Science, and Passion, we are applying our innovative TransCon® technology platform to fulfill our mission of developing new therapies that demonstrate best-in-class potential to address unmet medical needs.

At our headquarters in Hellerup, Denmark, research facilities in Heidelberg, Germany, and additional offices across Europe and the United States, we are advancing programs in our Endocrinology Rare Disease and Oncology portfolios. We also collaborate with partners on the development of TransCon-based products in other therapeutic areas and markets.

We are seeking a passionate Data Analytics Engineer to join our team. You will work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to design, build and operate data and analytics solutions that help drive better decisions across the business.

As part of a highly collaborative team, you will have the opportunity to work across the full lifecycle of a solution, from early stakeholder dialogue and requirements gathering through design, development, enablement and support. We value curiosity, ownership and collaboration, and we believe the best solutions are created together.

You will report directly to People Leader, Babak Bajelan, and Functional Leader, Henrik Aagaard Linnemann, both based in Hellerup. You will also be based on Hellerup.

Your key responsibilities will be:

  • Partner with stakeholders to understand needs, facilitate workshops and shape fit-for-purpose data and analytics solutions.
  • Design, build and operate end-to-end solutions, from data pipelines, integrations and transformations to semantic models, dashboards and reporting.
  • Ensure solutions are reliable, traceable and well documented, and developed in accordance with data quality, security, governance and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and users to continuously improve solutions, controls and ways of working.

Qualifications and Skills:

Your background may come from data engineering, analytics engineering, business intelligence, software development or a related field. While 5+ years of experience within Data & Analytics is preferred, what matters most is your ability to translate business needs into practical solutions and collaborate effectively with stakeholders.

To succeed in the role, you should bring:

  • Hands-on experience with SQL, relational databases, data modelling and the development of data pipelines, transformations, integrations or reporting solutions.
  • The ability to work across the data and analytics stack, from backend data processing to semantic models and user-facing reporting.
  • A structured approach to testing, documentation, data quality and change management.
  • Strong stakeholder and collaboration skills, with the ability to turn business needs into clear and maintainable solutions.

It would also be an advantage if you have experience with:

  • Modern data and development tools such as Databricks, dbt, Visual Studio Code, Azure DevOps, Git and CI/CD.
  • Power BI.
  • AI-assisted development tools or coding agents, used responsibly to support quality and productivity.
  • An understanding of working in a regulated and compliance-focused environment.

You do not need to match every technology listed. We value curiosity, sound judgement and the ability to learn and develop with the team.

Key competencies:

The right team fit is central to this role. We are looking for someone who is:

  • Proactive, structured and comfortable taking ownership.
  • A strong collaborator who enjoys working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Curious, pragmatic and eager to learn and share knowledge with others.
  • Positive, down-to-earth and someone who enjoys contributing to a collaborative team culture.

Travel: 10-15 days per year.

Office: Tuborg Boulevard 12, 2900 Hellerup
