Programme Director

We’re partnering with an organisation looking to appoint an experienced Programme Director within HR Transformation to lead the delivery of a portfolio of strategic programmes and large-scale business transformation initiatives.

This is a senior leadership opportunity for someone who can operate at both a strategic and operational level, bringing together complex workstreams, senior stakeholders and cross-functional teams to deliver meaningful business outcomes.

The Role

As Programme Director, you will take overall accountability for the successful delivery of a portfolio of programmes, ensuring alignment with organisational strategy, commercial objectives and long-term business priorities within the People function.

You will work closely with executive leadership and senior stakeholders, providing direction, governance and oversight across complex programmes, while building the capability and structure required to deliver sustainable change.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Leading the end-to-end delivery of complex, high-value strategic programmes and transformation initiatives.

• Establishing programme governance, delivery frameworks, reporting structures and clear accountability.

• Working closely with C-suite and senior leadership teams to translate strategic priorities into executable programmes.

• Overseeing multiple workstreams, ensuring delivery against agreed milestones, budgets and business outcomes.

• Identifying and managing programme risks, dependencies, issues and interdependencies.

• Leading and developing high-performing programme and project management teams.

• Driving stakeholder engagement and ensuring effective communication across the organisation.

• Ensuring benefits realisation, measurable impact and long-term sustainability of programme outcomes.

About You

You’ll ideally have:

• Extensive experience operating at Programme Director or equivalent senior programme leadership level.

• A proven track record delivering large-scale business transformation and strategic change programmes.

• Experience managing complex portfolios, multiple workstreams and significant budgets.

• The credibility to influence and challenge at executive and board level.

• Strong commercial acumen and an ability to connect programme delivery with wider business objectives.

• Experience building, leading and developing high-performing delivery teams.

• Exceptional stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills.
