About the position

The Senior Structural Designer is responsible for executing 3D structural modelling and

preparing detailed structural drawings based on engineering inputs, concepts, and design

sketches. The role involves generating MTO documents, performing weld length calculations,

and ensuring all deliverables meet project schedules, quality standards, and interface

requirements. You will coordinate actively with engineers, supervisors, and multi‑discipline

teams to resolve design issues, while providing guidance and mentoring to the design team to

enhance overall output quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.
  • 5–15 years of experience in structural design for onshore/offshore oil & gas or other heavy‑industry projects.
  • Solid knowledge of international codes and standards such as DNV, NORSOK, and other relevant structural design standards.
  • High proficiency in design tools including E3D, Tekla, MicroStation, PDMS, ProArc, and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong command of English, both spoken and written.

Personal qualities

The ideal candidate is a proactive problem solver with strong technical leadership skills and a high degree of independence. You possess excellent communication and coordination abilities, enabling smooth interaction across multi-discipline teams and effective collaboration with engineers and supervisors. Additionally, you demonstrate a supportive attitude through a strong commitment to mentoring junior designers and driving continuous quality and efficiency within the team.
